Pet of the
Week
01/29/2013 09:14:09 AM
POTW:
This week’s pet is Floyd, owned by Tina of Marquette.

Says Tina--
“Floyd is our 10 year old black lab. He was born the
same day our yellow lab died. He has been a very
important part of our family since the day he arrived.
My husband was very upset when we lost our yellow lab.
They had grown up together and he wasn't sure he was
ready for another puppy until he saw Floyd. Now we
can't imagine our life without him. My mother-n-law is
a breeder and found Floyd through a breeder friend
who was very anxious to help us find a friend to fill
the void of our loss.
Floyd is very spoiled and loved. He is very vocal and
will let you know if you are not giving him enough
attention. He is also a big baby and lover. He doesn't
have a mean bone in his body. If another dog comes
after him, he will just roll over and be submissive
despite his size. And he loves to be mushy and cuddle
at any time. When he looks at you
with his big brown eyes, you can see the unconditional
love and loyalty. Even though he is 10 years old, he
still acts like a pup. We replaced both of his knees a
couple years ago because his knees couldn't keep up with
his puppy attitude. The vet said he was a great poster
child for the surgery because he recovered so well
despite his age. We did one
knee at a time and completed the 4 weeks of physical
therapy required for a complete recovery of each knee.
He is a wonderful friend and pet and we hope he will be
with us for many more years to come. I hope you pick
Floyd, because he deserves some recognition for being
such a wonderful friend.”
