Says Katelyn--“
Before we came along and fell in love with Polar, he was in and out of the shelter a couple of times in his short two years. He had run away from his owner, who never looked for him. He was abused and neglected.

We had just discovered that we were allowed to have a dog in our apartment, and we had been volunteering at the Humane Society for quite some time. We had our mind on a certain dog until we pulled into the parking lot that day. That's when we first laid eyes on this white husky with lots of love in his heart. After we parked we ran over to the fence to get a closer look. He ran right up to us and started giving us kisses and he continued to smile at us. We went in and asked who that dog was as we had not seen him before. They told us his name was Polar. As soon as we got around to the door to walk a dog, he was coming in from the yard. We just had to walk him.

The walk was brilliant. He didn't pull, he didn't run, he just stayed between us, smiling the entire way. We watched him in his kennel once we got back from the walk. With scars all over his face, he looked at us, and we instantly knew he was the dog that we were meant to have.

Since adopting Polar our lives have been enriched by the love, and the life of our new child.

We had wanted a smaller dog, but everything changed when we fell in love with this young husky.

For being abused and neglected he has a great personality. He is the best dog I have ever met, and I am so glad that he captured our hearts.

Now he loves to play with the little dogs my parents have, and his best friend, a Chihuahua from next door.

Polar's favorite things are attention from mommy and daddy, playing with his friends, chewing on toys, and running around outside. He is the best behaved dog and has put up with so much in his life.

I developed epilepsy shortly after adopting Polar, and he has learned to detect my seizures before I do. He constantly checks up on us when we are sleeping, and he takes care of us when we are sick.

Polar Bear is the best thing that has ever happened to us and we love him with our entire hearts.
