LOS ANGELES, CA  [Monday Apr.24.2006]  /WMQT.com/ -- Dave Grohl is officially the Foo Father.

The Foo Fighters frontman and his wife Jordyn welcomed their daughter, Violet Maye Grohl, into the world on Saturday, April 15th, at 4:35 pm PT.

According to the Foo Fighters official web site, baby Violet was born at Cedars Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles, and she weighed 6 pounds and 15 ounces and measured 21 inches tall at birth.

Grohl described her as "just perfect."

Father, mother and child are happy, healthy, and "up to [their] ears in green sh--s."

This is the couple's first child.
