Celebrities team with Aldo/YouthAIDs for HIV-prevention.
NEW YORK, NY [Friday May.5.2006] /WMQT.com/ -- Did you know that in 2005, nearly 5 million people worldwide were infected with HIV?
That's 10 people per minute, which is why artists like Bow Wow, Avril Lavigne and Good Charlotte are taking part in the 2006 Aldo and YouthAIDS HIV empowerment tag campaign.
Proceeds from the sales of the tags help fund YouthAids HIV-prevention initiatives including voluntary counseling centers, testing clinics, and the development of tools for HIV prevention.
A series of print ads will appear in magazines nationwide, and each ad features a celebrity modeling the tags, which read "Hear," "See," and "Speak."
Ludacris, Pink, John Mayer, Kelly Rowland from Destiny's Child, Ziggy Marley, Eve, Juanes, Wynonna Judd, and Dave Navarro are some of the other artists featured in the campaign.
The tags are available for purchase at Aldo stores and online at
www.youthaids-aldo.org. Each tag costs $5, plus shipping and tax.
