BEP launch international initiative for Peapod Foundation.
JOHANNESBURG, SOUTH AFRICA [Thursday May.25.2006] /WMQT.com/ -- The Black Eyed Peas will be in South Africa on Friday, May 26th, to launch the first international philanthropic initiative for the group's Peapod Foundation.
If you aren't familiar with The Peapod Foundation, it's The Black Eyed Peas' charity dedicated to providing opportunities and support for children who suffer worldwide.
During the Peas' visit to South Africa, the group will perform a free benefit concert for over 30,000 people at Johannesburg Stadium at Ellis Park. The Peas will also visit local townships and youth centers, participate in children's workshops in Soweto, take part in a VIP/Fundraiser Official Concert After-Party, and meet with Nelson Mandela early next week.
Proceeds from the Black Eyed Peas' VIP after-party will be donated to the Adopt-A-School Foundation.
