SANTA BARBARA, CA  [Monday Jul.17.2006]  /WMQT.com/ -- It's official: Deryck Whibley and Avril Lavigne are now husband and wife.

The Sum 41 frontman married his girlfriend, singer Avril Lavigne, on Saturday, July 15, in the California coastal town of Montecito, reports the Canadian Press.

Close to 110 family and friends attended the wedding of the Canadian musicians, who are both from Ontario.

Whibley, 26, and Lavigne, 21, have been friends for years, but they only started dating in 2004. Whibley proposed to Lavigne in June 2005, during her European tour.

Lavigne is currently working on her third album, and Whibley is also busy recording the next Sum 41 release.
