Country Stars Help Kick Off 87th NFL Season
Hometown band excited to perform at half-time

by Neil Haislop

Rascal Flatts
NASHVILLE, TN  [Friday Sep.8.2006]  /WMQT.com/ -- Rascal Flatts, Martina McBride, The Povertyneck Hillbillies, as well as Diddy and Cassie helped kick off the 87th NFL season Thursday, September 7th on NBC for a game between the Miami Dolphins and the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The PovertyNeck Hillbillies' connection to Pittsburgh, as the "official band" of the Pittsburgh Steelers, had them rooting on their hometown team as they played the Miami Dolphins and the group performed their hit single 'Mr. Right Now' at Heinz Field as part of the half-time show.

"We have all grown up rooting for the Steelers," said lead singer Abby. "Getting to play on Heinz field is amazing, but to play at half-time for the first game of the 87th season is hands down a dream come true for us all."
