LOS ANGELES, CA [Monday Sep.11.2006] /WMQT.com/ -- Here's a little known fact...Thr Raconteurs got their name from Mike Wallace of 60 Minutes fame. The idea came to Jack White after watching a biography on the iconic newsman.
"They called him a radio raconteur," Jack said, "and I was, like, `Hey guys, I just saw this word!' -- because I didn't remember seeing it before. Now I see it all the time, of course, and nobody in the band knew what it meant. And so we looked it up and said wow, that's perfect, that's what songwriters do. We do aim to tell stories and let people relate to the stories that we tell through song. We were kind of shocked that no one had really used it before."
The Raconteurs will be touring through early November. For more information, go to their website at www.theraconteurs.com
