NASHVILLE, TN [Tuesday Oct.17.2006] /WMQT.com/ -- Tim McGraw met the Hollywood press at a junket Friday on a filming ranch in Agoura Hills near Los Angeles. He talked about many aspects of his upcoming film, "Flicka," and gave details about the Flicka soundtrack album that hits stores TOMORROW.
We asked Tim how he selected the singers performing the songs on the album and Tim told us, "The ones I had a part in (picking) I knew were just right and were good guys and friends of mine that would do the right music for it, my band members, the Warren Brothers, and my cousin, 17 year-old Catherine Raney ("All the Pretty Little Ponies"), the song Alison Bello sings to the horse, she's a 17-year old girl so, it seemed to fit perfectly. And, Holly Williams who is a friend of mine does great music, sings "Rodeo Road," and the other artists on there (Gemma Hayes, Watertown, Natasha Bedingfield, Chantel Kreviazuk, Donovan, Becki Ryan), the music had to appeal to the kids that were going to see the movie and remind them of the stuff they listen to now and I think that soundtrack does that very well. It's got a little bit of a country feel but it has a bit of alternative vibe to it too."
Fans that buy the Flicka soundtrack album will be able to see how the songs work in the film when "FLICKA" hits movie screens nationwide, Friday."
