"I wrote "Once in a Lifetime" with John Shanks, and it's the kind of song that came along in a writing session with John where I just show up and write about what ever is going on in my life and so on, and I guess I was in a place that day when I felt the need for some kind of affirmation, that was my intention, probably as much for me to hear as for anybody else."

The single is the first release from Urban's new CD "Love Pain and the Whole Crazy Thing" that comes out Nov. 7th.
