LONDON, UK [Friday Nov.3.2006] /WMQT.com/ -- The Scissor Sisters, Kasabian, and other top music acts will be performing as part of a month-long festival benefitting the international charity organization Oxfam.
The 1000 + event festival is called "Oxjam," and has recently begun touring the UK. In addition to concerts and club gigs, the charity will put on events like a karaoke-a-thon, and a Buskathon, 24 hour street performances, (known to the British as "Busking") occurring in 10 cities simultaneously.
Oxfam rep Gareth Simpson said, "We see Oxjam as a kind of Live8 in your back garden - every single person who gets out there and gets involved is the real star of this festival. Together, we can all do our bit to fight poverty and enjoy some great new music at the same time."
