LOS ANGELES, CA [Monday Nov.27.2006] /WMQT.com/ -- Winners of the 2006 American Music Awards were unveiled last week at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles.
Multiple wins went to The Black Eyed Peas, who took home the awards for favorite R&B band, duo or group, favorite rap/hip-hop band, duo or group, and favorite rap/hip-hop album. The Peas however, weren't on hand to accept their accolades -- the group was in Costa Rica and showed up via satellite.
Red Hot Chili Peppers also earned two wins, one for favorite pop/rock band, duo or group , and also for favorite alternative artist. Kelly Clarkson and Rascal Flatts also won two awards each that night.
The night's performances were not one to miss -- the event featured a duet bewteen Snoop Dogg and Akon, as well as songs by superstar Beyonce Knowles, boyfriend Jay-Z, Mary J Blige, Gwen Stefani, and The Pussycat Dolls.
