Gets nod for best song

by Neil Haislop

Tim McGraw
NASHVILLE, TN  [Thursday Dec.14.2006]  /WMQT.com/ -- The Tim McGraw/Tom Douglas penned "My Little Girl" from the Fox 2000 film "Flicka" garnered a nomination in the "Best Song" category from the Broadcast Film Critics. "Flicka" also received a nomination in the "Best Family Film (Live Action)" category.

When asked to contribute music for the film, Tim asked cowriter Tom Douglas ("Little Rock", "Grown Men Don't Cry") to come spend time on the set and get a sense for the nature of the project. The result was "My Little Girl" which lyrically draws upon the theme of the movie as McGraw's character comes to grips with the desire of his daughter, played by Allison Lohman, to chose her own path.

MORE: The record was produced by McGraw and Byron Gallimore and appears in both his Reflected: Greatest Hits v. 2 CD and the Flicka Soundtrack album. "I'm very grateful for this nomination and equally excited about the nomination for the movie," said McGraw. McGraw next appears in "The Kingdom" starring Jamie Foxx and Jennifer Garner, directed by Peter Berg.
