"Vol. 2 Greatest Hits" just won't quit
NASHVILLE, TN [Wednesday Jan.10.2007] /WMQT.com/ -- Tim McGraw's new album won't be out until later this year, so he's glad his Vol. 2 Greatest Hits did some heavy lifting for him during the holiday sales season.
"I'm really grateful to all the fans who bought the albums this year," said Tim McGraw upon learning he was the #6 selling recording artist in all formats.
"I was really hoping to have a new studio album so for the fans to support a second greatest hits is a special reward." McGraw arguably had the highest grossing year ever for a country artist when you consider all the many projects. "When you combine record sales, digital sales, merchandise sales, ticket sales, songwriting, music publishing, box office sales - he had to have set some kind of new bar" said manager Scott Siman.
"It was such a special year with the tour, an Oscar contending song he wrote and recorded with 'My Little Girl', and singing with Tony Bennett."
The lead single "Last Dollar" from the new album is exploding at radio debuting at number 30 in its first week with 89 adds.
