"Today Apple is going to reinvent the phone."
Apple, which is now being called Apple Inc, saw its shares rise as much as 6.3 percent after the unveiling of the new product.
Singer/songwriter John Mayer made an appearance at the expo, giving a special performance in honor of the event.
