NASHVILLE, TN [Thursday Feb.1.2007] /WMQT.com/ -- One of the magical highlights of a great Keith Urban concert is how he rocks audiences with virtuoso, you-don't-want-'em-to-stop, extended outros as he plays out some songs.
On his new album, Love, Pain and the whole crazy thing, he ended up doing the same magic on a bunch of the songs because he says he just couldn't resist doing it. "Yea, we couldn't seem to stop playing the songs," he tells us. "There is a lot of songs on this album with long guitar outros and several of them we had the full intention of fading the songs, that's why the band played so long, we were going to fade it. But, then we got so used to the length of them, that we ended up making use of it. And, it is definitely kin to what you're going to see live," Keith affirms.
Also, Urban credits his wife, Nicole, for recording Sarah Buxton's "Stupid Boy." Urban tells us he'd been looking for a song like it when he got his hands on an advance of her album. "I took it home and played it ("Stupid Boy") for Nick, and she said, 'You need to record THAT song!'" So, I didn't think that would be possible since it was already on her album, so, Sarah, thanks!." "Stupid Boy," moved up to #6 this week.
