"U2 Charist" Heads To Church Of England
Hit songs to be covered in religious services
by Laura Katz

LOS ANGELES, CA [Tuesday Feb.6.2007] /WMQT.com/ -- U2 songs will be replacing religious hymns at the Church of England in the hopes of upping attendance.
A band will cover hits like "Beautiful Day" and
"Mysterious Ways" as part of a "U2 charist" service at St Swithins' church in Lincoln in May. A similar service was initiated in the U.S. back in 2005.
In addition to U2's music being heard, the service will also serve as a platform for Bono's Millennium Development Goals, a plan the singer is promoting to fight world poverty.
