LOS ANGELES, CA [Tuesday Feb.13.2007] /WMQT.com/ -- For Fall Out Boy, working with rapper Jay-Z was an intimidating but rewarding experience.
Bassist Pete Wentz said of the mogul, "He is one of the few people I still get starstruck by, but I had to get past that."
Jay-Z and the band collaborated on "Thriller," the first track off their new album, "Infinity On High." But zccording to Wentz, landing the star was no easy task. He said, "It took a lot of convincing more than anything. Then we had to pin him down as he is a busy man. It's the perfect way to start the album and really sets the tone."
The band also teamed up with producer Babyface on '"I'm Like A Lawyer With The Way I'm Always Trying To Get You Off (Me + You)" and "Thnks Fr Th Mmrs."
Wentz said of the pairing, "We learned a lot musically from him, though it took a while for us to bring him into our circle of trust."
"It's not an easy thing to do when you are so tight, so it was a learning experience."
