Dixie Chicks, Mary J. & More Honored at Grammys
Maines and the gals snag 5 awards, Blige scores 3,

LOS ANGELES, CA  [Monday Feb.12.2007]  /WMQT.com/ -- The Dixie Chicks were the big winners at the Grammys Sunday night, taking home five awards including record and song of the year for "Not Ready To Make Nice" and album of the year for "Taking the Long Way."

Mary J. Blige went in with 8 Grammy nods, but she scored three major wins: best R&B song and best female R&B vocal performance for "Be Without You," and best R&B album for "The Breakthrough."

The Red Hot Chili Pepppers have proved they haven't lost their spice - the veteran group won best rock song and best rock performance by a duo or group with vocal for "Dani California," as well as best rock album and best boxed or special limited-edition package for "Stadium Arcadium."

Former "American Idol" winner Carrie Underwood took home the Best New Artist Grammy, Ludacris picked up best rap album for "Release Therapy" and best rap song for "Money Maker," and Gnarls Barkley earned Grammys for best urban/alternative performance for "Crazy" and best alternative music album for "St. Elsewhere."
