LOS ANGELES, CA [Monday Feb.19.2007] /WMQT.com/ -- North Dakota lawmakers have rejected a resolution to officially honor U2 fontman Bono.
The star has been working tirelessly to relieve third world debt and has been pressuring nations to take a tougher stand on global issues such as poverty and AIDS.
Although the resolution was defeated 58-35, State representative Scott Kelsh said, "This is something that does matter to us as citizens of North Dakota, the United States, and the world at large."
Representative Gil Herbel was a little confused by the measure, and thought it was referring to Sonny Bono. He said, "When I saw the resolution, I was looking for Cher's name in there."
