LOS ANGELES, CA  [Thursday Mar.8.2007]  /WMQT.com/ -- Snow Patrol's Gary Lightbody says he may need to give up booze for good, because drinking makes him act "like a d**khead."

The "Chasing Cars" singer said, "I've always got my finger on the self-destruct button. I started drinking at 25. "I was being an a**ehole. I was swearing at people, smashing equipment and acting like a d**khead."

He added, "I loathed myself. At my worst, I'd do maybe 30 pints of Guinness on a three-day bender."
