Fall Out Boy Accused Of Stealing
Knives Out considering lawsuit

by Laura Katz

Fall Out Boy
LOS ANGELES, CA  [Friday Mar.23.2007]  /WMQT.com/ -- Punkbands.com reports that Nicholas Hans of Knives Out is thinking about suing Fall Out Boy.

Hans claims the group stole a phrase from a T-shirt he designed and used it for lyrics on a song from the 2005 album "From Under the Cork Tree."

He said that while Knives Out was tour back in 2001, he sold a black T-shirt with a drawing of a hand with a ribbon tied around the wrist and the phrase "Don't Open Till After X-Mas."

The line "The ribbon on my wrist says, 'Do not open before Christmas'" appears in Fall Out Boy's song "Our Lawyer Made Us Change the Name of This Song So We Wouldn't Get Sued." (Apparently, the song title has nothing to do with this issue.)

Hans said, "They 100 percent ripped us off. It just p**ses me off. They should have asked."

Reps for Fall Out Boy have yet to respond to the claims made by Hans.
