NASHVILLE, TN [Friday Apr.6.2007] /WMQT.com/ -- Keith Urban sat down with the country press corps in Nashville yesterday, for an unrestricted and open interview that touched on everything from his stint in re-hab to his upcoming wkokrld tour and much more.
Not many artist would be ready to talk about such a painful bump in the road as going into rehab for 3 months, but Keith was completely open to any questions. Among other things he said he was okay with having to give up the guitar during rehab, the instrument that has been an extension of his soul since he was 6 years old.
Initially restricted from playing his guitar, when it was offered to him half way through his treatment, he says, "I refused it, I didn't want it." Concentrating on personal work he had to do, even to the exclusion of his guitar, helped Keith "gain the perspective and balance," he needed between his identities personal and professional.
Urban is excited about his Love, Pain & whole crazy World Tour that kicks off this month in Europe (he heads to London April 19th, that premieres in the U.S. In Phoenix, AZ on June 8th, and eventually taking to Australia.
