NASHVILLE, TN  [Wednesday May.2.2007]  /WMQT.com/ -- Rascal Flatts have now collected 8 #1 hits and 3 of them have come from their 4x Platinum Me and My Gang CD.


Rascal Flatts will perform "Stand" on May 15 on the ACM Awards, where they are nominated for Entertainer, Vocal Group, Album, and Single of the year. This most recent #1 was written by Danny Orton and Blair Daly. It's interesting that "Stand" was one of the first songs they chose for Me and My Gang, and will likely be the last release from the CD.

"That's one of the first songs we put on hold for the project," Joe Don recalls. "Again just the groove of that song and the simplicity in it lyrically was just awesome, it's all about you might get beat down now and then, but you've got to stand right back up and get back in the fight to better yourself." Jay adds, "A lot of people don't realize that's straight out of The Scripture, too, when you've done all you can do, stand. And I think that Dan, coming from the background that he came from it was really inspiring to him and he wrote one heck of a song based on that." (:31 Audio attached).

THEIR NEW CD is on the way. They began working on it at the end of last year, and Gary LeVox, Jay DeMarcus and Joe Don Rooney are still busy writing and recording their next album, due in stores September 25, 2007.

Me And My Gang debuted in April 2006 with more than 721,000 units sold, making it the biggest unit debut of 2006. It also held the #1 position on SoundScan's weekly Top 200 sales chart for three weeks, more consecutive weeks than any artist in any genre last year.
