LOS ANGELES, CA  [Tuesday Jul.10.2007]  /WMQT.com/ -- Nelly Furtado has some big news for her fans.

The "Maneater" star has just announced her engagement to sound engineer Demacio "Demo" Castellon. Furtado told Blender in July 2006 she had a "secret boyfriend" of eight months, and said at the time, "I just don't really talk about it. It's nobody famous or anything."

According to People magazine, Furtado and Castellon met in late 2005 when she was recording her hit album "Loose."

No date has been set for the wedding yet.
