NASHVILLE, TN [Friday Aug.24.2007] /WMQT.com/ -- The best way to help a sick and down person is sometimes just to share some compassionate time at their side in hopes of cheering them up.
And that's what RASCAL FLATTS did recently when they visited the Monroe Carell, Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt today and performed a short acoustic set for children and their families in the Children's Theater. The kids were also treated to visits by several Disney characters- Cinderella, Mickey & Minnaie and Snow White- thanks to Rascal Flatts record label Lyric Street Records, whose parent company is Disney.
"It puts a smile on our face to be here today," said Gary LeVox to press following the party appearance. "Maybe it took their minds off of things for just a little while today." "The benefit concert in September is the entire community's show," shared Jay DeMarcus. "Everyone who buys a ticket is affecting the lives of those kids."
After singing to the kids, Gary, Jay & Joe Don visited and took pictures with each of the children in the party and then spent time visiting patients who could not attend in their hospital rooms.
