Their first album was released in October (Rocktober, if you're a real with-it hep-cat) 1996 and 2003's "Welcome Interstate Managers" is their third release.

Worry not; there is no underhanded conspiracy of evil. The National Academy Of Recording Arts & Sciences, distributors of the Grammys defines the nominee for Best New Artist as one "who releases, during the eligibility year, the first recording which establishes the public identity of that artist."

Even Stacy's mom would agree that the public identity of Fountains Of Wayne has been established this year.
