BURBANK, CA [Friday Dec.19.2003] /WMQT.com/ -- Liz Phair, who initially admitted to searing bouts of stage-fright, will begin a tour Feb. 26th at the House Of Blues in West Hollywood, CA.
The singer-songwriter shocked her hardcore fans this past June by releasing a slickly produced pop album, cleverly titled "Liz Phair", instead of the more introspective "lo-fi" work they were used to. Enlisting slick producers and several guest musicians such as Dr. Dre's bassist and co-writer/producer of 50 Cent's hit "In Da Club" Mike Elizondo, first call session drummer Matt Chamberlain, Prince bassist Wendy Melvoin and Pete Yorn, the album peaked at No. 27 on The Billboard 200 album chart and "Why Can't I" the first single --produced and co-written by The Matrix (Avril Lavigne)--topped out at No. 15 on the Adult Top 40 chart.
Phair appeared on Late Night with Conan O'Brien, Wednesday, Dec. 17th.
