DETROIT, MI [Sunday Feb.15.2004] /WMQT.com/ -- Dido, who had the best-selling album of 2003 with "Life for Rent," has pulled out of a performance at this year's Brit Awards. The UK's Brit Awards will take place on February 17, but without Dido, who says she has to concentrate on writing and rehearsals for her upcoming tour. The singer says that "...the last year has been absolutely fantastic for me. However, the continual commitment to events, promotion, and TV appearances has meant that any time for being creative has been non-existent. I'm therefore really excited to be clearing the decks and making space to write and record. Although I'll be sorry to miss all the fun and celebrations at the Brits, I look forward to seeing everyone on tour soon."
Regrettable for all, since rumor has it that Dido will likely to be a big winner at the show with three nominations: Best Female Solo Artist, Best Album for "Life for Rent," and Best Single for "White Flag."
