Solo gigs no threat to duo.
DETROIT, MI [Wednesday Feb.18.2004] /WMQT.com/ -- OutKast's Andre 3000 and Antwan "Big Boi" Patton don't need to be together to prove to music fans that they're a solid unit. Fans have been speculating for some time that the pair don't like each other and are planning to split up. Working on separate projects including Big Boi solo shows and Andre's movie gigs hasn't done much to quell the rumors, either. However, an anonymous source from their UK label BMG has denied any squabbling, saying, "When a band are so comfortable creatively that they can do their own thing, record separate albums, have solo projects, and even tour separately under the OutKast banner like Dre and Big Boi do, people can't understand it. The rumors that they don't get along and that they're going to split are completely false. If you saw them at the Grammys and performing together you can see that this couldn't be further from the truth."
Speaking of which, American Indian groups say they are still waiting for an apology for OutKast's "Hey Ya!" Grammy performance, which featured dancers in front of a teepee and a marching band in war paint and feather headdresses.
