DETROIT, MI  [Friday Feb.20.2004]  /WMQT.com/ -- The latest video from Outkast is a hip-hop "West Side Story," featuring Big Boi and Andre 3000 as rival teen gang members vying for the love of Caroline, member of the girl gang "Roses."

"We're pretty much after the same girl, Caroline, and she's in a girl group called Roses, with pink jackets," says Andre.

"We're battling for her attention," adds Big Boi. "I sent Caroline a love letter asking her to be my valentine and she puts 'Maybe.' So I get enraged and me and the fellas come across town to [Andre's] school to wreak havoc."

Sound nutty? As Andre puts it: "As artists, we just try to keep ourselves excited. ['Roses'] ain't about being crazy and outlandish, but if you feeling like that, crank it up."

The video, directed by longtime Outkast collaborator Bryan Barber, also features Goodie Mob, Sleepy Brown and Farnsworth Bentley, and is due by end of February.
