Says he wants to improve musical skills.
DETROIT, MI [Friday Mar.19.2004] /WMQT.com/ -- Outkast's Andre 3000 wants to spend his free time while partner Big Boi's on tour constructively. The rapper says that he's recently developed an interest in the clarinet and saxaphone, and hopes to enroll in the prestigious Julliard School of Music in New York. Andre's been living in L.A., but says he feels the action is in New York.
"There's so much energy in New York and it excites you because you can't really sit around and not do anything. I need new scenery and to be around new people," he said.
"Since I'm not touring with the album I know I'm going to have a lot of time on my hands so I'm trying to get into the Juilliard," he added. "I want to go to school and study music. Right now I'm into simplifying and learning."
