DETROIT, MI  [Tuesday Apr.6.2004]  /WMQT.com/ -- Gwen Stefani was not at all happy with her appearance in Martin Scorsese's new film "The Aviator." The singer plays Jean Harlow in the biographical picture about billionaire eccentric Howard Hughes, and was dolled up to resemble the actress, thin lips and all.

"I would have done it a little differently," she commented. "I am always in control of my hair and make-up. I was like, 'Are you sure you want the lips to be thin? Jean Harlow's were bigger than that. It's not like I didn't read two biographies and watch 18 of her movies before I got here.'"
