Previous incarnation a massive flop.
DETROIT, MI [Wednesday Apr.14.2004] /WMQT.com/ -- We already know Maroon 5 used to be a dismally boring band called Kara's Flowers. But we didn't know that Maroon 5 almost didn't exist as a result.
Singer/guitarist Andy Levine recalls, "There was a moment where we all questioned whether this band was going to work but we got over that hump and we know it obviously has worked."
Since reforming and retooling their sound, the band has been steadily climbing multiple charts and has performed about "a million" gigs last year, supporting artists like John Mayer, Sheryl Crow, Train and Counting Crows.
"You just have to be patient and keep plugging along even if you experience massive failure as we did, but I think that was probably one of the best things that has happened to us," says Levine.
