Doug Robb's First Concert
Hoobastank singer remembers seeing David Lee Roth.

by Krista Desens

Hoobastank
LOS ANGELES, CA  [Tuesday Jun.8.2004]  /WMQT.com/ -- Doug Robb recently reminisced to the Associated Press about his first concert.

It all "seemed bigger than life," the Hoobastank frontman says. Robb was a teenager when he caught David Lee Roth's "Eat 'em and Smile" tour, with opening act Poison. Robb recalls, "I remember seeing David Lee Roth fly across the arena on his surfboard, and me going, 'That's the guy on my posters on my wall!'

Now with Hoobastank's success, Robb has some insight into how Roth might have felt. Says Robb, "It's weird to think that somebody out there might be thinking the same things when they see me walk on stage."
