Fans send card after LLB cancel show for family emergency.
SACRAMENTO, CA [Monday Sep.13.2004] /WMQT.com/ -- Last week, Los Lonely Boys were forced to cancel their show at the California State Fair in Sacramento due to a family emergency. The band called off the September 6 show when their six-year-old niece, Erica, was air-lifted to the hospital with a brain embolism and went into a coma. On the Los Lonely Boys web site, the band told fans, "Please understand that she needs us right now ... and to Los Lonely Boys, family is everything."
Putting aside their disappointment, fans showed support for Los Lonely Boys by signing a huge get-well card located at the fair's concert area. Later in the week, the Garza brothers updated fans on Erica's progress and expressed thanks for the support they received from everyone.
Henry, JoJo and Ringo wrote, "Things are looking great! She [Erica] has regained all of her senses and is awake and talking, and has been out of bed trying to walk. Her prognosis is really good and we have been told that she will most likely be back to normal soon without any permanent damage. This is truly a miracle and we have God to thank, as well as all of you out there for your many prayers and well wishes."
