Alanis Morissette, Adam Clayton not hurt in Tsunami tragedy.
NEW YORK, NY [Monday Jan.3.2005] /WMQT.com/ -- After giant tsunamis devastated countries from Indonesia to Somalia on December 26, concerned fans wondered if Alanis Morissette and U2 bass player Adam Clayton were okay. Both musicians had been vacationing on islands in the Indian Ocean when tragedy hit that part of the world. Morissette was in Indonesia, while Clayton was on holiday in Malaysia. Messages posted on their official web sites let fans know the artists are safe and sound and that Morissette and Clayton were out of harm's way when the disaster struck.
On her web site, Morissette thanks fans for their concern and care. She states, "Sending everyone who has voiced concern about my safety here in Indonesia much love and appreciation for your care. I am further south than was reached by the tsunamis... and I am so sad to see what has happened to these sweet people. Kills me." Morissette also appeals to fans to assist survivors of the tragedy and writes, "Please join me in sending many prayers and help in whatever form you feel pulled to..."
A message was also posted on the U2 web site to inform fans that Adam "was unaffected by the tragic events around the Indian Ocean following Sunday's tsunami waves." The U2 site provides links to global aid organizations including The American Red Cross at
