Spears drops by LA radio station to try out new song.
LOS ANGELES, CA [Wednesday Jan.5.2005] /WMQT.com/ -- Looks like a new Britney Spears album is on the way.
During a surprise visit to Los Angeles radio station KISS FM last Thursday night (December 30), the pop star revealed that she's working on a new album.
MTV.com reports that Spears dropped KISS FM to play "a really, really rough mix" of a new song, called "Mona Lisa." Spears wanted to test it out and get some fan reaction. Spears said of the track, "It definitely has the raw thing going on it," and promised, "It's going to get better."
Spears actually recorded "Mona Lisa" in 2004. She told listeners, "I recorded this song when I was on tour, right before I hurt my knee. It was done, I think, four or five months ago."
Spears dedicated the song "to all the "legends and icons out there" and said that "Mona Lisa" will probably be the first single from her new album, which she hopes to release "before summertime, or maybe a little sooner than that." The album doesn't have a title yet, but Spears may call it "The Original Doll."
