Tsunami Aid Concert This Saturday
Tsunami Aid Concert and Telethon this Sat., Jan. 15, on NBC.

LOS ANGELES, CA  [Friday Jan.14.2005]  /WMQT.com/ -- This Saturday, January 15, musicians and actors will gather for the fundraising concert, "Tsunami Aid: A Concert of Hope." NBC and its networks will televise the show, which benefits victims of last month's tsunami tragedy in South Asia, which has taken almost 150,000 lives so far.

Actor George Clooney will host the two-hour telethon. Many artists are scheduled to perform including Nelly, John Mayer, Maroon 5, Sarah McLachlan, Madonna, Elton John, Annie Lennox, Sheryl Crow, Mary J. Blige, Norah Jones, Eric Clapton and Kenny Chesney. Some of the actors appearing on the special include Clint Eastwood, Meg Ryan, Renee Zellweger, Ray Romano, Morgan Freeman, Ben Affleck and Robert Downey Jr.

"Tsunami Aid: A Concert of Hope" airs live and commercial free at 8 pm ET /7 pm CT (tape-delayed on West Coast) on NBC, MSNBC, CNBC, Bravo, USA, Sci Fi, Trio, Telemundo and Pax. During the program, viewers can call in to make a donation to the American Red Cross International Response Fund. Phone lines will remain open throughout the evening.
