The movie's soundtrack features original songs performed by the Dixie Chicks, Willie Nelson, Charlie Robison and George Strait.

Speaking of George, he was surprised to find out that so many young performers, like Garth Brooks, were influenced by his career.

"I had heard that from people but it wasn't something that I set out to do or to be, you know, and if they thought, that it was flattering to me, but it did't make me want to be any different so I never tried to change to be any more of or any less of than they thought. But like I said it was flattering to hear it and at first it was kind of shocking 'cause I was thinking I hadn't been around long enough to be that kind of influence on anybody."
