Jet's Nic Cester, Midnight Oil, Silverchair play benefit.
SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA [Monday Jan.31.2005] /WMQT.com/ -- Last Saturday, January 29, Jet frontman Nic Cester took the stage in Sydney as part of a rock supergroup called The Wrights to raise funds for Asia's tsunami victims. During Australia's WaveAid Tsunami Relief Concert, Cester appeared alongside members of Australian bands Powderfinger, Grinspoon, The Living End, Dallas Crane, Spiderbait and You Am I to perform Stevie Wright's "Evie, Parts 1, 2 and 3." The supergroup previously performed "Evie" on January 8 for the "Australia Unites - Reach Out To Asia" concert and telethon to raise money for tsunami relief efforts.
Other artists taking part in the WaveAid Tsunami Relief Concert included headliners Midnight Oil, Silverchair, Powderfinger, Nick Cave, Neil and Tim Finn, Kasey Chambers, the John Butler Trio and more. Over 50,000 people attended the all-day music festival, which was held at the Sydney Cricket Ground.
