MTV reports that the singer is part of an ownership group that's about to buy the NBA's Cleveland Cavaliers. ESPN said the team's purchase price is around $375 million, but specifics were not yet released.

Other artists who own professional basketball teams include Jay-Z, who belongs to the investment group that purchased the New Jersey Nets last summer, and Nelly, who belongs to the group that owns the Charlotte Bobcats -- the first minority-owned NBA expansion team.
