Killers, Kaiser Chiefs, more to two-day music fest.
CHICAGO, IL [Monday Apr.25.2005] /WMQT.com/ -- The Lollapalooza music festival is back and coming to Chicago.
Last year, Lollapalooza was canceled amid disappointing ticket sales and rising costs. Now, the alternative music event has reinvented itself from a traveling nationwide tour into an annual, two-day "destination" festival.
This year's Lollapalooza takes place July 23 and 24 in Chicago, Illinois at Hutchinson Field in Grant Park. About 30,000 people are expected to attend each day, and more than 60 bands on five stages will entertain them.
The festival lineup is sure to meet the approval of alternative music fans. The Killers, the Pixies, Weezer, a reunited Dinosaur Jr., and the Kaiser Chiefs are among the acts confirmed to play. Other artists on board for Lollapalooza include G. Love & Special Sauce, Ambulance Ltd., Liz Phair, Cake, Kasabian, the Bravery, Louis XIV, the Arcade Fire, the Dandy Warhols, Widespread Panic, the Walkmen, Z-Trip and Dashboard Confessional.
Tickets are on sale now at the Lollapalooza Web site. For more information, visit
