Chris Wilson out of band due to personal health problems.
NEW YORK, NY [Monday May.16.2005] /WMQT.com/ -- Good Charlotte and drummer Chris Wilson have parted ways.
In a message posted on its official Web site last week, Good Charlotte band members Benji and Joel Madden, Billy Martin and Paul Thomas told fans that Wilson would no longer be playing with the band "due to personal health problems." Good Charlotte said it was "a collective decision to have Chris stay around his friends and family and begin to truly rehabilitate."
The group said the decision was difficult to make. Good Charlotte wrote, "This has not been easy on any of us ...we loved playing with Chris so much." The band also asked for understanding and thanked the fans for their support. "We hope everyone will be respectful and understand the situation and pray that Chris gets better," Good Charlotte wrote. "We would also like to say thanks to the fans for all of their support with this, it matters most, now."
Wilson joined Good Charlotte in 2002 and played on Good Charlotte's latest album, "The Chronicles of Life and Death."
Good Charlotte is currently on the "Noise To The World Tour" with Simple Plan, and the band has hired Dean Butterworth, who recently played with Morrissey), to handle drumming duties.
