Bono helps friend launch book 'Conversations with Bono.
BOSTON, MA [Friday May.27.2005] /WMQT.com/ -- Thousands of fans waited outside a Boston bookstore on Tuesday (May 24) in hopes of seeing Bono.
And they weren't disappointed.
The U2 singer, who was in town to play three sold-out shows in Boston, joined his friend Michka Assayas at Barnes and Noble to help launch Assayas' new book "Conversations with Bono."
U2.com reports that, in just over an hour, Bono and Assayas autographed several hundred books. Bono introduced the book to reporters explaining, "It's Michka's book. I just agreed to let him ask me all of these hard questions. We've known each other since we were kids really, like 22-year-olds, and even many years ago, we used to talk long into the night."
Author Assayas added, "It's not a rock book really and it's not a biography. It's about getting inside the mind of this man who is a really nice bunch of guys!"
The 300-page book, "Conversations With Bono," is an extended series of conversations between Bono and Assayas, a French journalist who has known Bono since 1980. The talks cover a wide range of topics, including songwriting, Bono's relationship with his dad and U2, the campaign to end third world poverty, family life, and more.
"Conversations With Bono" is available at
Amazon.
