NEW YORK, NY  [Thursday Jun.16.2005]  /WMQT.com/ -- Who are the world's sexiest vegetarians? Here's your chance to decide...

People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) is currently hosting its fifth annual "World's Sexiest Vegetarians" poll, and Avril Lavigne, country superstar Shania Twain, and Coldplay's Chris Martin are among this year's top contenders.

Besides Avril and Shania, other nominees for the world's hottest vegetarian woman include current American Idol champ Carrie Underwood, Annie Lennox, Chrissie Hynde from the Pretenders, Fiona Apple, Erykah Badu, k.d. lang, Reese Witherspoon and Alicia Silverstone.

Some of the guys competing with Chris Martin for the title of sexiest vegetarian man are U2's Larry Mullen Jr., Green Day's Mike Dirnt, Blur and Gorillaz frontman Damon Albarn, Weezer's Brian Bell, rapper Common and OutKast's Andre 3000.

Voting for the World's Sexiest Vegetarians poll continues throughout June at http://www.peta.org/feat/sexyveg05/. The winners will be announced in July.
