Joshua Glasheen joins DMB on tour as enviro-roadie.
BOSTON, MA [Wednesday Jul.27.2005] /WMQT.com/ -- This summer, Joshua Glasheen is joining the Dave Matthews Band as an "Enviro-Roadie."
The Lowell, Massachusetts resident is the winner of the "Take A Stand with Dave Matthews Band" search, sponsored by Ben & Jerry's, Dave Matthews Band and SaveOurEnvironment.org.
Glasheen beat out 1,280 applicants for the coveted gig of Enviro-Roadie. In his new job, Glasheen will serve as the official ambassador of Ben & Jerry's, Dave Matthews Band and SaveOurEnvironment.org's Lick Global Warming campaign for 23 tour dates from July 16 to September 7.
Part of Glasheen's job on the road is hosting an interactive exhibit that educates people about global warming and what they can do to fight it. He'll also hand out samples of Ben & Jerry's new flavor - Dave Matthews Band Magic Brownies - and maintain a blog on
http://www.lickglobalwarming.org/ about his adventures on the road with DMB.
"We need to act immediately to reverse global warming," Dave Matthews said in a statement. "It's a problem that was created by people and it can be solved by people if we all work together."
For its part, Dave Matthews Band has teamed up with NativeEnergy to offset the CO(2) pollution impact of every tour the band has done since its first in 1992.
Dave Matthews Band is currently on a nationwide tour in support of its latest album "Stand Up."
