During the month of August, when you buy System of A Down's "Mesmerize" or Coldplay's "X&Y" through the Amnesty International web site, up to 10% of your purchase goes to help the human rights organization. Just go to
www.AmnestyUSA.org and click on the CDs of the month section to purchase the albums.
In an interview with Amnesty International, System of A Down frontman Serj Tankian explained why Amnesty International is important to him.
"I believe in our collective ability to resist, whether it's occupation, mistreatment, or human rights violations around the world, and Amnesty's done an amazing job in helping to release prisoners, initiating letter writing campaigns, and all sorts of things," says Tankian. "I've been a member of Amnesty for a long time and I appreciate what Amnesty does."
