REM frontman sings duet with Chris Martin at Atlanta show.
ATLANTA, GA [Monday Oct.3.2005] /WMQT.com/ -- Fans at Coldplay's Atlanta show last week got a great surprise when REM frontman Michael Stipe joined the band onstage.
During Coldplay's show at the Philips Arena on September 28th, Stipe and Chris Martin sang a duet of the REM song "Nightswimming," reports NME.com.
Martin told the audience that the last time Coldplay was in Atlanta, Elton John played piano onstage with the band. Martin said Coldplay wanted to top that surprise, and he then introduced Stipe to the cheering crowd.
Coldplay is currently on the road to promote its latest album, "X&Y."
