Foo Fighters paint breast cast for cancer charity auction.

by Krista Desens

Foo Fighters
BROOKLYN, NY  [Friday Oct.7.2005]  /WMQT.com/ -- October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and some rockers are doing their part to help battle and raise awareness about this disease.

Tom DeLonge from Blink-182, Foo Fighters, New Found Glory, Taking Back Sunday, Switchfoot, Alkaline Trio, and members of No Doubt have all donated painted casts of breasts to be auctioned online starting October 18th at www.Keep-A-Breast.org. The auction runs through October 27th, and proceeds benefit The Keep A Breast Foundation's Youth Awareness Program.

Tom DeLonge company, MacBeth Athletics, is helping to sponsor the auction.

"Like millions of others, I have been plagued by the devastating effects of cancer hitting not one, but multiple members of my family," DeLonge said in a statement. "Keep A Breast creates events that are not only inspiring and beautiful, they provide a call to action for the millions of teens and young adults who are searching for a cause to support."

You can see all the one-of-a-kind plaster breast casts displayed at the Stay Gold Gallery in Brooklyn, New York on Saturday, October 8th. West Coasters can check out the casts at the Lab 101 Gallery in Culver City, California on October 22nd.
